What is Proyecto Semillero?
Sowing the seeds of landscape and community restoration
Sustainable development in rural Spain is threatened by problems such as desertification, depopulation and lack of infrastructure. Landscape restoration processes bring communities together to work holistically in their territory, both restoring life to the soil and to the community. Proyecto Semillero trains locals with skills and knowledge to become agents of change in their community. Short term, they will be able to organize their communities around their most pressing issues. Long term, they will be able to start the process of restoring their natural environment.
Proyecto Semillero uses a methodology based on Peers, Practice and Localization to accelerate the learning experience and select the most effective best practices for the local context. In the long run, the Proyecto Semillero will expand to other countries, using the experience gained in Spain.
